As part of Alex Monroe's 40th Birthday celebrations, The Hambledon has been chosen to rummage through the jeweller's glorious drawers and select an archive piece for an exclusive reedition.
We are honoured to have been selected as one of just four long-standing stockists to re-create an archival piece exclusively for our customers. Having proudly sold Alex Monroe jewellery for over 20 years, the collaboration feels particularly meaningful — a celebration not only of four decades of design, but of a partnership built on craftsmanship, storytelling and a shared love of beautifully made things.
Our choice takes us back to the early 2000s: a cameo-style pendant necklace, delicately hand-carved and rich with symbolism. At its centre, a singing bird in full voice heralds the rays of the morning sunrise — a motif that feels as uplifting today as it did when it was first conceived. Motivational, inspirational and full of pure joy, it perfectly captures the spirit of both Alex Monroe’s work and our long-standing collaboration.
This limited edition necklace is crafted in solid sterling silver with 22ct Fairmined gold plate, entirely handmade in England. The pendant measures 20mm by 15mm and hangs from a fine trace chain measuring 455mm in total, with an extension allowing it to be worn from 405mm to 455mm (16–18 inches). Every detail reflects the thoughtful artistry and delicate workmanship for which Alex Monroe is known.
